le maschere di fantasia, quelle che hanno come riferimento fiabe e favole: l’Orco, Jugale, il Ciclope, lo Gnomo; sono il raccordo ancestrale tra il mondo mitico della tradizione orale e quello del teatro.

Queste maschere, sono quelle realizzate, a distanza di oltre un anno dalla fine del mio lavoro per la messa in scena, dello spettacolo Il sogno di Andersen

Le maschere realizzate per lo spettacolo Pulcinella a Pezzi1quelle dei protagonisti, che sono uno zanni e un “semizanni”: Pulcinella, Giangurgolo2, e Amina, le maschere riservate ai musicisti e nate dalla suggestione dei famosi disegni di Gezzi: Pulcinella il Gatto e la Morte e le maschere del laboratorio Macerie da cui discendono, quindi ulteriori Pulcinella e Giangurgolo.

Le altre maschere della Commedia dell’Arte sono: il Capitano, il Magnifico, il Medico della peste, il Dottore, una serie di zanni: da Hellequin ad Arlecchino ed una serie di “Pulcinelli”. Il Capitano ha un ruolo simile a quello di Giangurgolo, la differenza è che il primo crede di essere quello che non è il secondo fa finta di essere quello che non è.

  Le maschere teatrali  in questa galleria sono quelle realizzate per gli spettacoli: Pulcinella a Pezzi, con i percorsi che hanno portato alla loro creazione: le maschere intermedie e le maschere della tradizione giapponese. Circondate dalle maschere che completano l’universo della Commedia dell’Arte e da un piccolo insieme di maschere con riferimento fiabe e favole. Un ulteriore gruppo, è costituito dalle maschere realizzate per Il sogno di Andersen dell’Odin Teatret.
